Thylias Moss

Hey folks

The January issue of Poetry magazine featured a magnificent poem by Thylias Moss entitled "The Subculture of the Wrongfully Accused". I was most impressed by this work and have done a little digging. I see that she has several volumes of poetry in print, but I was not able fo find out much more about her. Apparently she teaches at an MFA program at the University of Michigan.

If any of you know her work or anything about her, I'd love to hear any facts or opinions.

Thanks!

    Hello All

I just found the poem you mentioned (sorry it took me so long to find it) in a new book by Moss, Tokyo Butter. I haven't read the book yet, but I have it. The table of contents is called search results, and there's quite a few "culture" poems listed there.

Believe it or not, I found out about the book through iTunes where she has three podcasts all about the limited fork which apparently is taking her into realms away from print matter. Beautiful realms I must say with layers of sound and images and text that aren't anything like most electronic poetry that I've seen. Some of the podcast episodes refer to Tokyo Butter, so Moss isn't abandoning print matter, just extending how and what she expresses. Anyway, you should check out these podcasts for yourself, and then I'd love to hear from anyone concerning that content. It's like a sudden explosion considering that before these podcasts, as far as I can tell, there were just books, so something led to quite an explosion of mental activity. As I said, poetry redefined at the podcasts.

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks.
